Cultivating EverGreen

EverGreen was created to support those impacted by chronic illnesses and caregivers through outdoor adventures and forms of artful expressions, to foster a sense of community and self-acceptance.

We are Ever. Green. Always learning. Always evolving.

EverGreen was founded in the fall of 2022 after identifying a gap in our community for chronic illness support and we quickly secured 501 c3 designation.

A type I diabetic for most of my life, I also manage a number of other illnesses, including microscopic colitis and sarcoidosis. In June of 2022, after exhausting medicinal options I had my colon completely removed at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

The challenge was removing my colon did not cure my diseases, but did allow me to leave the house again and regain elements of my old life spent outdoors. I return to Mayo on a regular basis to monitor and address ongoing symptoms caused by my colitis and sarcoid.

After returning home to Bozeman, MT I felt isolated and alone. As a caregiver, my wife hoped for some connection and outlet as well to other caregivers. During the surgical recovery process, we decided if the support we hoped for did not exist, we would create it ourselves. Therefore, our programming supports both patients and caregivers and evolves to meet the needs of our community.

We have met a number of incredibly generous people, offering both their time and financial support to establish and maintain EverGreen events.
