EverGreen Announces Second Annual Charity Hockey Game

Bozeman First Responders Face Off in Second Annual Frozen Frontline Game

Bozeman Police look to defend their title against Bozeman Fire in charity hockey showdown: virtual donations can be made at egadventures.org

BOZEMAN, Montana (March 12, 2025) — The friendly rivalry continues on March 28 at 6 p.m. Bozeman’s first responders will take to the ice for the 2nd Annual Frozen Frontline hockey game, where Bozeman Police will defend their championship title against Bozeman Fire at Haynes Pavilion (901 N. Black Ave). The event aims to raise $15,000 for three local nonprofits that support first responders and the community.

Jonathan Stewart, co-founder of EverGreen Adventures, founded the event to give back to first responders who have supported him through his own medical challenges.

“First responders have been there for me during some of the hardest moments of my life. I wanted to find a meaningful way to say thank you,” said Stewart. “Frozen Frontline brings the community together—not just to watch a great game, but to support those who dedicate their lives to protecting us.”

The inaugural game drew a packed crowd, with only standing-room spots left for spectators. This year, even more fans are expected to turn out for an exciting night of friendly competition and community spirit.

“This event isn’t just about hockey—it’s about recognizing the men and women who step up for us in times of crisis and showing up for them in return,” Stewart added.

This year’s event is presented by title sponsor Bozeman Health, with support from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Montana. All proceeds will benefit EverGreen Adventures, the Bozeman Police Foundation, and the Bozeman Firefighters IAFF L613 Benevolent Fund.

“We are honored to support our local first responders in this way,” said Dr. Kathryn Bertany, Bozeman Health CEO. “As the only acute care hospital in Gallatin Valley, Bozeman Health’s partnership with both Bozeman Fire and Bozeman Police is integral to coordinating time-sensitive, life-saving care for patients in our community.” She continues, “we’re delighted to support EverGreen Adventures via this tournament, as our organizational missions align, to improve community health and quality of life for all.”

“Last year’s game was a huge success, and we’re excited to make this an annual tradition,” said Brian Foreman, President of the Bozeman Police Foundation. “Events like Frozen Frontline not only raise funds for important programs but also strengthen the bond between the community and our first responders.”

Bozeman Police took home the cup last year with a 7-3 victory over Bozeman Fire, but the firefighters are ready for a rematch.

“Every day, firefighters and police officers work side by side in service to Bozeman. Frozen Frontline is an extension of that partnership,” said Dillon Smith, Captain for Bozeman Fire and President of the L613 Union. “We may be competitive on the ice, but at the end of the day, this game is about unity, service, and giving back. That said, last year we were just warming up—this time, we’re bringing the heat.”
